“Olive” is a 14 year old Spotted Draft/Morgan mare that stands right about 17hh. She picks up all three gaits, she’s a sensible point and go type. Olive crosses water, mud, ditches, hills, ravines and bridges out on the trails without hesitation. She will lead, follow, or ride in the middle of a group or happily go out alone. We had her in a consistent program and then she moved to the back burner where she’s been for some time now but we have just started brining her back into consistent work. Olive is the same horse each time you get on and can take a joke! She is suited for any rider that can hold the reins but prefers to take it slow. Olive is responsive to cues without being overly sensitive and is extremely forgiving of rider error. Olive had ridden in the arena but doesn’t know much about it. She loads and travels well. She stands for grooming, tacking and the farrier. Olive also drives, she’s traffic safe, stops and stands but we don’t drive her frequently. She is puppy dog gentle and loves attention. Her only flaw is that she will casually walk off while mounting sometimes. She is turned out in a mixed heard of mares, geldings, and babies, she does great with everyone and is not a bossy mare.
