Luna is being offered for considerably less than what a Shire normally sells for due to the fact she has OCD in her back hocks. Luna is scheduled for surgery in Sept. of 2026. But we want to try to find her a suitable home in the meantime. The prognosis is very good for a completely normal life after the bone chips are removed from her hocks. What we are told from numerous vets is that it can be hereditary but the large draft breeds are more susceptible to it as well. Luna was born a very large foal and continued to grow at an alarming rate after birth. We believe this fast growth is what has contributed to her condition. For interested buyers our Surgical Veterinarian will hold a consultation with you about this. Other than that Luna is an extremely rare find for a Shire. Her markings and her bloodlines are exceptional. So, for someone who is willing to accept her for the current flaw of OCD, she will make a great partner for a very good price. Call for more details.
